Description
Wizard Rockets is proud to stock the Eggtimer Proton dual-deployment controller. This advanced piece of electronics measures your flight altitude, logs flight data and can trigger up to six ejection charges at configurable points in the flight.
This product is an advanced flight controller capable of meeting most flier’s needs in their rockets. It is capable of air-starting motors, multi-stage ejection charges and multi-stage parachute deployment.
These kits are sold unbuilt. Advanced soldering skills are required to complete these kits, though they can be assembled within two hours with a steady hand.
Once complete further integration work will be required. Full documentation for the Eggtimer Proton is available on the Eggtimer Rocketry website here.
You will need:
- Advanced soldering skills. The components on the Proton vary between small surface-mount devices and solder-on modules which require individual soldering of legs.
- Some electronics integration (simple soldering) to provide the power switch required by most safety codes (see the UKRA Safety Code here).
- A suitable power source.
Wizard Rockets recommends a minimum of a fully charged 2S LiIon battery (7.4-8.4v). Maximum recommended voltage is 12v. - Electronic matches or igniters.
Wizard Rockets recommends the orange-wired firework igniters readily available online. - A method of integrating the ejection charge(s) into your build.
Wizard Rockets recommends that all ejection charges are ground-tested before flight to ensure that ejection is reliable and consistent.
This product is designed to operate at up to 12v supply voltage. At supply voltages over about 7v the current draw of the WiFi module is sufficient for the voltage regulator to get warm. Your airframe should be designed to allow some airflow to keep this component at a normal operating temperature.
Important note: Due to the possibility of mistakes during assembly, the kit version of this product does not come with any warranty once the bags are unsealed. Please verify that all components are present and correct before opening the anti-static bags. Assembled or partially assembled products are not covered by warranty. Where possible, we will try to help you diagnose any problems.
