Advance Notice Requirements
For logistical reasons, we need a minimum of three calendar days’ notice for any collection. This means that for a collection on a Sunday launch event, the order must be complete and paid for by the end of business the preceding Thursday. We cannot make any exceptions to this rule, and please don’t make things awkward for us by asking us to break this rule with a last minute order on a Friday or Saturday morning.
We try to bring a selection of stock with us to events, so you may find that we have what you need even without preordering.
Purchase requirements for rocket motors
All motors
Definitions:
- Purchaser: The individual purchasing and paying for the goods whose name is on the order and resides at the billing address entered when placing the order.
- Recipient: The individual being supplied the rocket motor.
Wizard Rockets will not provide any rocket motors of any class to a purchaser or recipients under the age of 18. When purchasing motors, please ensure that the recipient of the motor (the individual collecting the order) brings ID proving that they are aged over 18.
Low power motors (A-G class inclusive)
You will need to bring:
- ID proving your identity matching the name on the order, or matching the identity named as the person collecting the order on the notes on the order
- ID proving the recipient is aged 18 years or older
High power motors (H-class and above)
If you are obtaining your HPR certification (see the UKRA website) you will need at point of collection:
- The certifying officer (usually your Range Safety Officer or Flight Certification Officer) to be present
- Proof of valid BMFA insurance
- Be over the age of 18
If you already have your UKRA HPR certification, you will need at point of collection or beforehand:
- Proof of age
- Proof of your UKRA HPR certification.
- Proof of valid BMFA insurance.
Junior certifications (HPR certifications for flyers under the age of 18):
- Wizard Rockets do not support the notion of a junior member acquiring their own individual certification under the age of 18.
- Wizard Rockets will not supply motors to facilitate the acquisition of a Level 1 or Level 2 certification by a someone under the age of 18.
- If Wizard Rockets become aware of an adult purchasing motors from Wizard Rockets to facilitate these certifications, we will no longer sell you motors.
Collecting Orders
You are expected to contact us to arrange collection. If you have not arranged collection before the collection deadlines (see below), we will take the relevant action (see below).
Wizard Rockets attend as many launch events as practical for Fins over Gwent (FOG, South Wales), Midland Rocketry Club (MRC, near Tamworth) and East Anglian Rocketry Society (EARS, near Cambridge). Please do note that we have a regular conflict with FOG that means that we are only able to attend approximately one in three launches. We also usually attend the International Rocketry Week hosted by the Scottish Aeronautics and Rocketry Association (SARA), near Glasgow.
Any pre-orders can be collected from one of the launch events we’re attending or from our HQ near Swindon, Wiltshire. Please note that while we try to attend these events we cannot guarantee attendance and therefore, if you wish to collect a pre-order at an event, please get in touch and confirm that we’re coming first.
For those requiring motors for launches we are unable to attend please do not hesitate to get in touch if you wish to collect or arrange for a group collection.
Collection deadlines
When orders are placed online for collection we will store and care for your order for a maximum time as follows:
